Me2Day, Korea’s Twitter, integrates Wetoku
A few days ago, I noticed that the founders of Me2Day.net, Korea’s Twitter, registered for Wetoku… so I thought I’d send one of the founders an e-mail to welcome him to the site. Very soon after I contacted him, he replied to point out a couple of issues related to video synchronization, and also suggested that we add the Wetoku logo to our embedded video player. (Duh!)
Since then, we’ve added the Wetoku logo to the video player, and have begun working hard on eliminating the video synchronization problems. The problem occurs because we are streaming and encoding not one but two video streams simultaneously. This is a bit of burden for our servers, although they’re run by the almighty CDNetworks in Korea and Influxis in the U.S. We’re attacking this problem with an incremental improvement first, so that we can minimize the short-term pain that our users are experiencing. Next, we’re applying a more comprehensive solution. (It’s top secret for now!)
Anyhow, the main purpose of this post is to let you know that Me2Day quickly decided to integrate the Wetoku embedded player into their service. Now, Me2Day users can embed a Wetoku interview recording directly into their… hmmm, if I say tweet, will I get in trouble? Not sure what to call them, other than Me2Day micro-blog posts. :-)
It’s incredible how fast these guys work. Way to go Suman and Codian! One day, we should get together for something similar to a Rails Rumble.
